Amwins said Wednesday it has acquired Jackson-Lloyd, a specialty managing general agent focused on occupational loss protection.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1989 in Longview, Texas, Jackson-Lloyd provides employers with alternatives to the traditional workers compensation system for nonsubscribers in Texas and exempt employers in Kansas.
Jackson-Lloyd will join Amwins Specialty Casualty Solutions, an MGA with more than 20 programs that provides specialty coverage to niche markets including transportation, health care, public entity, professional employer organizations and professional lines.
The acquisition strengthens its accident and health portfolio with a program focused on the Texas nonsubscriber market, Amwins said in a statement.
Amwins Specialty Casualty Solutions writes about $1 billion in annual premium across its specialty programs, according to the statement.
